
Chili will make us feel peppery hot but why? This is because inside the chili there are many of seed which is capsicum. Chili is usually in red and green colour. This colour will attract the birds to consumption and spread the seed at any place. Bird do not have the receptor for capsaicin to binds, so it does not function as an irritant for them. The purpose secretion of capsaicin is to protect itself from being eaten by the animal.
Capsaicin is use as a personal defence like pepper spray, crop defence, and food defence. It also uses in medication which help to relieve the pain of peripheral neuropathy.
